Faux painting and Faux finishing are terms used to describe a wide range of decorative painting techniques. Although this Gallery is titled "Furniture," it is really about all custom pieces that complete a room. Whether transforming trash to treasure, restoring damaged pieces, or turning unfinished pieces into spectacular, room-completing accents, this is a fun way to express your personality. |
Irwin Arts is happy to accept orders for hand-painted furniture. You can choose from one of the
designs you find in our Furniture Gallery, or we will work with you to
create exactly the custom design that fit your needs.
We can accommodate just about any request for a particular style, color or subject matter. You might choose barstools that match your kitchen or family room decor, or one that reflects a hobby or collection. A child's rocking chair with a favorite storybook character or family pet would be really appreciated-just about anything is possible!
We currently offer a selection of stools, small tables and children's chairs in various heights and sizes.
You can also provide the furniture that you want customized,and Irwin Arts will gladly work with you to turn it into a treasured piece. Unfortunately,we cannot do extensive repairs on furniture that is broken or in very bad condition. Please email a picture or arrange to send a picture of the piece if it is damaged, so we can determine its suitability.
We can arrange shipment for most pieces, or if you live locally, we would be happy to deliver your selections for a small charge. Please send a message to ask-laurie@irwinarts.com with your contact information so we can discuss your interest in custom hand-painted furniture by Irwin Arts.
There are many books and products in this craft. You can consult Irwin Arts Store for a collection of books and products, or start with my art related product and book reviews for more selective advice and opinions on books, magazines, and products I've used. You can also order many of the products I use regularly in my work, and which I recommend for great results. If you really have no interest in attempting any of these techniques, or you don’t have the time, I also offer lots of options for pre-made murals and wall decorations that will give your rooms a new life! These are really easy to install or apply, and there are a mind-boggling number of design options. This is also a great way to go if you are on a budget or will not be in your home for a long time.
